Mindfulness Lesson #4
Exteroception. Using our senses to be aware of what’s around us, to orient us, To help bring us into the present, which regulates our nervous system.
In this video I give a synopsis of the last three videos, And then we explore what it means to be mindful of our sight and with our sight. Using eyes like an owl or an eagle, can we take a broader View and see the things around us that maybe we haven’t noticed before, Or the things that we find beautiful, comforting, supportive, soothing?
What objects around you do you find help to anchor you back into the present and into feelings of steadiness, or joy, or just general okayness?
How does it feel to look around your space like you were seeing it for the first time? What do you notice? And do you feel more present, and if so how does that feel?
What body sensations do you notice? Is there more tenseness in your body and mind, or do you feel more calm, open, grounded, relaxed?
I invite you to keep exploring with these and other mindfulness exercises To see how they work for you. Your body will tell you. Keep listening.
